“I realised that God loves me and is there for me.”
I love my family, good food, nice beer, the company of friends, singing, acting, listening to music, especially the band ‘Super Furry Animals’, I love cats, Chanel Allure perfume, I’m not religious but I do have a relationship with God.
Growing up I went to Sunday school (occasionally), church for weddings, christenings etc. but I still didn’t really ‘have faith’. I felt like I was just saying words from a sheet and not understanding anything about it. I learnt about the importance of having hope by completing the ‘Hope Explored’ series with a friend. This helped me get a better understanding of how God is in my life, and I didn’t realise it. I still don’t have all the answers. I don’t know why some things happen or don’t.
I do know that there is someone out there whom I can talk to. He is someone who can ‘..accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think…’ That prayer just blew my mind it made me feel so humble so grateful. I realised that God loves me and is there for me.
Someone once shared with me this prayer
‘Don’t worry about anything, pray about everything, tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.’ I try to do this every day and I know that he knows what I need. I learnt that the answer might not be what I think it should be. I keep learning with the help of the friends I have made at The Chapel Centre and I’m learning more about how to live my life to be a better person, to ask for help from God, to be thankful for what is good in my life. Overall, it is work in progress.
